Parent Coaching

When your child has big emotional reactions (meltdowns, shutdowns, explosive behavior), it can feel like you’re constantly reacting, second-guessing, and trying to keep the peace.

You’ve probably tried reasoning, consequences, staying calm… and still feel stuck.

What Parent Coaching Actually Is

Parent coaching isn’t about pointing out what you’re doing wrong or handing you a one-size-fits-all strategy.

It’s about helping you make sense of what’s happening underneath your child’s behavior, and giving you tools that actually work in your real, day-to-day life.

Together, we look at:

  • what’s triggering your child’s reactions

  • what your child might be communicating through their behavior

  • how your responses may be unintentionally escalating or reinforcing patterns

  • what to do in the moment when emotions are high

This is practical, collaborative, and tailored to your child—not a generic parenting script.

When Parent Coaching Might Be the Right Fit

Parent coaching can be especially helpful if:

  • your child has frequent meltdowns, shutdowns, or explosive reactions

  • nothing seems to “stick,” no matter what you try

  • you feel like you’re walking on eggshells or constantly bracing for the next outburst

  • your child struggles with anxiety, ADHD, or emotional regulation

  • therapy for your child feels like a big step, or hasn’t been effective on its own

Sometimes the most impactful changes happen when you feel more supported and equipped.

How This Helps Your Child

Even though sessions are focused on you, the impact shows up in your child.

When you begin to respond differently:

  • power struggles decrease

  • emotional intensity becomes more manageable

  • your child feels safer and more understood

  • new patterns start to replace the old ones

Small shifts in how you respond can create meaningful change in how your child experiences the world.

What This Looks Like in Practice

Parent coaching is a mix of:

  • understanding the “why” behind behaviors

  • learning real-time strategies you can use immediately

  • adjusting how you respond in high-stress moments

  • building consistency and confidence over time

You leave sessions with clear direction. Not just ideas, but next steps.
