Hi, I'm Kelly.
If you've found yourself here, chances are something has been feeling hard lately. Maybe your child has been overwhelmed by anxiety, struggling with ADHD, having emotional outbursts, or just doesn't seem like themselves anymore. Maybe you're exhausted from trying everything you can think of and wondering what to do next.
First, I'm really glad you're here.
Helping children, teens, and families navigate life's big feelings is more than my career. It's the work I feel incredibly fortunate to do every day. My goal is to create a space where your child feels safe enough to be themselves and where you, as a parent, feel supported every step of the way.
I don't believe children are "giving us a hard time." More often, they're having a hard time, and behavior is simply the way they're communicating it. Together, we'll work to understand what's happening beneath the surface, build practical coping skills, strengthen emotional regulation, and help your child feel more confident both at home and in the world around them.
No two children are the same, so therapy shouldn't be either. I tailor each session to your child's personality, developmental stage, and unique needs using evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Child-Centered Play Therapy. Parent collaboration is an important part of the process because lasting change happens when children feel supported both in and outside of therapy.
I've been working exclusively with children and teens since 2013, beginning during my graduate training and continuing throughout my career. I earned my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University and became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 2020. Before becoming a therapist, I studied Musical Theatre at Roosevelt University and later earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Northern Colorado; an experience that continues to shape the creativity, flexibility, and playfulness I bring into my work with children daily.
Today, I provide both in-person and virtual therapy for children, teens, and families throughout California, and virtual therapy for those in Colorado, Texas, Michigan, Missouri, and Pennsylvania.
Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, depression, or simply navigating one of life's difficult transitions, you don't have to figure it out alone. I'd be honored to help your family take the next step!
