For kids, play isn’t just fun; it’s how they communicate, process, and make sense of their world. When something feels too big or overwhelming to put into words, it often comes out through behavior, imagination, or emotional reactions.

Play therapy creates a space where kids can safely express what they’re feeling in a way that actually makes sense to them.

How Does Virtual Play Therapy Work?

In sessions, we use play as the primary language. Through games, storytelling, art, music, and interactive activities, your child can show us what’s going on underneath the surface without the pressure of having to explain it perfectly.

I use a self-designed virtual playroom filled with games, puzzles, books, creative activities, and music to keep kids engaged while also building important skills. Even in an online setting, sessions are interactive, dynamic, and tailored to your child’s interests and needs.

As your child plays, we’re also working on:

  • emotional awareness

  • frustration tolerance

  • patience

  • problem-solving

  • and executive functioning skills

Why Play Therapy Works

Kids don’t typically process emotions the same way adults do. Asking a child to “talk it out” can sometimes lead to shutdown, avoidance, or “I don’t know.”

Play therapy works because it meets kids where they already are.

Through play, children are able to:

  • express emotions more freely

  • build confidence and a sense of control

  • practice coping skills in real time

  • work through anxiety, ADHD-related challenges, and behavioral patterns

Over time, those skills start to show up outside of session- in school, at home, and in everyday situations.

What This Looks Like for Parents

You’re not left out of the process.

Along the way, I help you understand what your child is communicating through play and give you tools to support them at home. This might look like:

  • responding differently to big emotions

  • setting boundaries that actually stick

  • or knowing when to step in vs. step back

I provide virtual play therapy for children across California, Colorado, Texas, Michigan, Missouri, and Pennsylvania.
